Emergency re-establishment assistance

Emergency re-establishment assistance is available if your home has been damaged or destroyed by the floods and storms and you:

  • do not earn much money
  • do not have building or contents insurance.

You can use this money for:

  • cleaning up your home
  • staying somewhere else
  • repairs to your home
  • rebuilding your home
  • replacing damaged contents.

Personal hardship assistance program

People affected by an emergency, such as a natural disaster, can receive financial assistance to meet immediate essential needs, such as emergency shelter, food, clothing, or personal items. This assistance is based on a fixed amount per household member, with a maximum amount for the household.

Strengthening Rural Communities – Prepare and Recover

Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support immediate community flood recovery activities or costs not eligible for other disaster grants or payments. FRRR will prioritise community groups and organisations that have been excluded from past relief funding. Projects that support recovery for vulnerable groups, such as people living with disability, young people, people over 65, people of diverse cultural backgrounds, and First Nations people will also be prioritised.
