Strathbogie Shire Council Presents the 2024/25 Annual Report
Strathbogie Shire Council has officially endorsed its 2024/25 Annual Report, highlighting a year shaped by local voices, shared challenges, and collective achievements.
The report, covering the period from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, was adopted at the Council Meeting on 21 October.
Mayor Cr Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the past year was one of recalibration and renewal — not just for Council, but for the entire community.
“Like many regional areas, we’ve felt the pinch of rising living costs and increasing prices for materials and services. The pressure to do more with less is real. But through it all, our community has shown incredible resilience, and Council has responded with care and clarity — always putting people first.”
“What truly defines this year is the spirit of our people. From lively festivals and local markets to sporting events and community shows — these gatherings remind us of the strength, warmth, and pride that make Strathbogie so special.”
Throughout the year, Council focused on balancing financial responsibility with the needs of residents, responding to rising costs and economic pressures with thoughtful planning and a people-first approach.
Key infrastructure upgrades delivered across the Shire included:
- Nagambie Foreshore Walk Upgrade — enhancing recreational access
- Longwood Female-Friendly Changerooms — promoting inclusive sport participation
- Over 2,000 metres of new footpaths — improving connectivity and mobility
- 50 km of road resurfacing — boosting safety and reliability
Beyond infrastructure, the year was marked by vibrant community life. Local festivals, markets, sporting events, and shows brought people together, reinforcing the Shire’s strong sense of identity and pride. Council’s support for these events helped strengthen tourism, local business, and social connection.
The Annual Report reflects a shared journey — one of adaptability, collaboration, and forward momentum. It highlights how Council and community worked side by side to navigate challenges and build a stronger, more connected Strathbogie.
Mayor Ewart-Kennedy said
“This report is more than numbers and projects — it’s a reflection of our people. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m confident that by continuing to work side by side, we’ll keep building a stronger, more connected Strathbogie for generations to come.”
