Statement from Cr Chris Raeburn and Cr Sally Hayes-Burke

We notified the Mayor that we would not attend the reconvened Council meeting, scheduled for 2pm Tuesday November 28, for the same reasons we advised last week when we left the meeting before considering the final agenda Item.

We believe the governance of our Council is irredeemably damaged, and the appointment of a new Mayor would be even more damaging.

We are hopeful the Minister will act quickly and announce an outcome of the recent municipal monitor’s report.
