Voting for local government elections across Victoria closed at 6pm on 25 October 2024.
Strathbogie Shire Council is an unsubdivided electoral structure represented by seven councillors.
The VEC is currently counting the votes. Provisional results will be available between Wednesday 6 and Friday 8 November 2024 with final results declared at 2.30pm on Friday 8 November 2024.

The election manager appointed by the VEC for Strathbogie Shire will advise candidates of the time and location of the declaration of results, which is a public event that anyone can attend including candidates, families and friends, community members, council staff, local media and other interested parties. The election manager will announce the result of each election and declare the successful candidates elected.
The declaration will occur at least 4 hours after provisional results have been released. Once the declaration has occurred, the results are final.
After the results are declared the CEO is responsible under the Local Government Act 2020 for preparing and delivering a comprehensive program to support and transition elected Councillors in their new roles and to set them up for a successful term.
Over the coming months the newly-elected Councillors will:
- take an oath or affirmation – scheduled for Tuesday 12 November at 5pm
- elect a Mayor and Deputy (if decided) on Tuesday 19 November
- appoint Councillors as representatives to a range of Council Committees and external bodies, and
- review and update:
- A Community Vision
- 2024-29 Council Plan
- Financial Plan
- Asset Plan
- Revenue and Rating Plan.
