Strathbogie Shire Council’s outdoor swimming pools season begins December 1

30 Nov 2022

Strathbogie Shire Council’s outdoor swimming pools are officially opening for the summer period this December 1, 2022.

The occasion will be celebrated with an official opening of the Euroa Outdoor Swimming Pool which is one of many Council pools to undergo upgrades during the winter break.

“Most of our pools have had minor repairs and improvements while closed over winter, ready for the summer season,” Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Laura Binks said.

“Some of the improvements include new platypus steps at the Violet Town pool.

“The Euroa pool received quite the facelift with new sheds, paths and irrigation.

“This project also included refurbishing the fountain garden and barbecue area so people can not only enjoy cooling off this summer, but also special time with family and friends using the new cooking facilities.

“We are hosting a special opening event in the refurbished grounds at Euroa pool and the community is invited to attend.

“There will be a sausage sizzle using the new barbecue and some local young bands will play live music too.”

The event runs from 4.30pm to 6pm on December 1, 2022 at the Euroa Swimming Pool.

Cr Binks also reminded ratepayers about their complimentary season pass which can be found at the bottom of their rates notice.

The Violet Town, Euroa, Avenel and Nagambie swimming pools will open from December 1, 2022 to mid-March (weather permitting).
