Council receives funding for future Euroa Railway Precinct master plan
Council has welcomed a $100,000 funding boost from the Victorian Government to create a master plan for the land surrounding the Euroa Railway Station.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Laura Binks said Council had also contributed $30,000 to the funds – from the Victorian Government’s Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program – to complete the project.
“The Euroa Precinct Master Plan Project will investigate future opportunities at the Euroa train station site, including opportunities for developing any surplus land,” Cr Binks said.
“Council welcomes the funding received from the Victorian Government for the Euroa Rail Precinct Master Plan.
“The future design of the Euroa Rail Precinct and the movement of vehicles (rail and road) will have a significant impact on the Euroa township’s future.”
“We are eager to create a master plan that connects our community. Our vision for Euroa is a united community. One that is not divided by a railway line.
“We say this because good design creates inspired and connected communities.”
The Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program provides funding to local governments and community organisations for small-scale transport projects, evidence-based transport and freight studies, and funding to redesign and trial new ways in which transport services at a local level can be delivered.
