1. Download the Active World App and follow the steps below, or
2. Visit your local pool with proof of residence to organise your season pass in person.

1. Download the app and select ‘Sign Up’.
2. For Strathbogie Shire residents:
   • Click ‘Buy Membership’ and select the ‘Rate Payer’ membership type.
   • Follow the prompts to activate your free season pass.
   • For families, create additional members under one customer profile and select the resident season pass for each individual family member.
3. For visitors:
   • Click ‘Buy Visitor Pass’ and follow the prompts to purchase a visitor pass to one of our pools.

Your self managed personal portal will enable you to:

• Manage personal and billing details
• Manager your account details
• Update your payment details
• Check for your next payment
• Buy a new membership or visit pass
• Scan in using a digital access card – for when you forget your pass!
• Send and receive messages to the Centre staff

After extensive feedback from our community, research and infrastructure reviews, Council adopted the Strathbogie Community Pools Strategy 2019-2029 which details a 10-year vision for the four pools.

Avenel Pool offers a range of facilities, including:

• Toddlers Wading Swimming Pool
• 25m Swimming Pool

All Strathbogie Shire residents are eligible to receive a seasonal pool pass giving free entry to Strathbogie Shire’s four pools. Please note the season pass is valid for you and your immediate household members but does not extend to family or friends who do not reside with you.  Photo ID and proof of address are required.

1 December to 14 December: Opening from 3pm to 7pm, 7 days a week

15 December to 1 February: Opening from 12pm to 7pm, 7 days a week

All Strathbogie Shire swimming pools will be closed on Christmas Day. Regular operating hours will resume from Boxing Day.

2 February to 9 March: Opening from 4pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, 12pm – 7pm Saturday, Sunday and public holidays

Morning Swim 16 December to 9 March: 9.30am – 11.30am (Tuesdays)

Season Close Date – 9 March

Please note: The pool will not open if the forecast maximum temperature for the day is below 22°C, weather events or emergencies. This decision is made based on the Bureau of Meteorology forecast at 12:00 PM the day prior, allowing time for communication to staff and the public.

This policy ensures safe and efficient operations during periods of cold weather.
