Strathbogie Shire Council proudly announces its success in the Kool Skools 2023 Project Awards with 6 nominations and taking home 3 prestigious awards.

Strathbogie Shire Council Administrator Peter Stephenson extended his congratulations to those involved in the successful delivery of the Kool Skools 2023 project.

“This year’s program had 34 participants, including the concert band which had members ranging from 9-88 years old,” he said.

“This project has been successful in building community and acknowledge the range of young people within the shire’s various music programs.

“Congratulations to YNOT on successfully winning ‘Best Alternative Pop Track’ as well as The Viceroys and Ungraded for both winning a ‘Special Judges Award’.

“These are exceptional achievements, and we are proud to see local youth represent our shire at a state level.

“Notably, Strathbogie Shire Council was the sole council nominated for a ‘Best Project Award’ -this recognition underscores council’s commitment to providing a platform for artistic expression, fostering creativity, and nurturing the next generation of musical talent.”

The awards ceremony, held in Melbourne recently showcased program participants YNOT and Ungraded, where they performed live on stage.

“The success of this year’s project reflects the vibrant and diverse musical talent present in our community. We are honoured to be recognised in the music industry and remain committed to supporting and promoting the arts in Strathbogie Shire,” Mr Stephenson said.

Strathbogie Shire Council will host the Kool Skools CD Launch on Sunday 17 December from 6pm at the Euroa Community Cinema.

The concert will feature 10 music acts with a range of diverse music genres. Along with some great performances, there will also be a free BBQ and free mocktails. This is a drug,
alcohol and smoke/vape free all-ages event. Please note, children under 12 years must be supervised by an adult.

“Council extends its gratitude to all participants, supporters, and partners who contributed to the success of the Kool Skools 2023 Project,” Mr Stephenson said.

“This achievement marks a significant milestone in council’s ongoing efforts to enrich the culture of the community through music and the arts.”
