Strathbogie Shire Council’s Victorian Seniors Festival Reimagined program of events offers the opportunity to explore Tahbilk Winery and its surrounds.
The Water, Wine, Wetlands and Walks is on Wednesday October 20 from 10am to 3pm.
For just $10, guests will be invited to take part in all four aspects of the day which include:
- Tours of the winery’s historic cellar and museum
- A guided Taungurung Walk through the surrounding bushland
- Cruise onboard the Goulburn Explorer through the beautiful Goulburn River
- Enjoy lunch at the Wetlands View Café overlooking the landscape
Established in 1860, Tahbilk Winery is one of Strathbogie Shire’s most renowned wineries.
Situated on some 1,214 hectares of rich river flats, the property has 11 kms of frontage to the Goulburn River and 8 kms of permanent backwaters and creeks.
Tahbilk is home to some 200 hectares of vineyards, specialising in whites such as Marsanne, Viognier and Roussanne and reds including Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn said the event was fantastic value for just $10.
“This is the only event that has a cost associated with it for our Victorian Seniors Festival Reimagined; but for just $10, you can take in all that Tahbilk Winery and its surrounds have to offer,” he said.
“It is a great way to get out and explore some of our Shire’s finest scenery as the weather starts to warm up.
“It is particularly important for our senior community, some of which are isolated and vulnerable, take this opportunity to reconnect after recent lockdowns.”
