#GreatNewsThursday – Kids flock to Euroa Community Cinema over school holidays

5 Oct 2023

School holiday screenings at Euroa Community Cinema have proven to be another popular hit.

Recently, the reduced ticket-priced films Cats in the Museum and Elemental draw crowd numbers of over 100 children and their parents/guardians for each screening.

“We were so excited to have 145 people view Cats in the Museum and 114 people at Elemental,” Cr Binks said.

“It just goes to show that these great films for children, shown at reduced ticket prices, are becoming more and more popular.

“The Euroa Community Cinema is a great place to escape the heat and enjoy some entertainment with family and friends.”

Cr Binks said it was fantastic to see people from ConnectGV’s school holiday program also attending one of the films.

“ConnectGV is a valuable respite program for children living with a disability and they are a great supporter of our sensory screenings.

“We always run a sensory screening for each school holiday film which is shown earlier in the day where the lights are left on low during screenings and the sound is turned down.”

Cr Binks also reminded parents that their children could access booster seats while at the cinema, to ensure their view isn’t obscured.

“We pride ourselves on the fantastic accessibility of the Euroa Community Cinema – not only do we have the amazing sensory screenings, but we also have booster seats and special seating areas dedicated to those who use a wheelchair,” Cr Binks said.

“We can see just how much these additions come in handy during the school holiday program which is some of our busiest screenings for the year.”
