#GreatNewsThursday – Enhancing community groups with free workshop series
Strathbogie Shire Council is hosting two free workshops to assist not-for-profit community groups in building their skills.
The Not-For-Profit Community Capacity Building Workshops will be held online or in person covering two topics.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Laura Binks said the first workshop ‘Good Governance for Not-For-Profits’ provided governance training for not-for-profit board or management committee members, upskilling new members and refreshing established members.
“The session will be jam-packed with governance information, and great tips and ideas. It will delve into good practice, compliance, effective planning, and risk management,” Cr Binks said.
“We know that the requirements for governance continue to increase for community groups.”
Cr Binks said the second topic ‘Succession Planning for Not-For-Profits’ steps participants through a simple framework for effective Succession Planning.
“It also includes lots of advice and practical tips on how to ensure participants effectively prepare for, plan for, and implement their succession strategies,” Cr Binks said.
