Council grant funds new signage at Euroa Museum

Strathbogie Shire Council has funded new plaques at the Euroa Historical and Genealogical Society after it was successful in receiving a 2022/23 Arts & Culture Community Grant.

Funding enabled the society to install a plaque per exhibit, detailing the type of agricultural machinery, location and date of manufacture, purpose, use in the Euroa district and who donated the machinery to the Museum.

Site preparation included working bees to move some exhibits so those of a similar theme were placed together, and improve access to exhibits through defined, newly created walkways.

Careful editing of exhibits’ information was done before the plaques were created. A star picket, with the plaque, was placed beside each exhibit, allowing for improved visibility of information. This brought the Museum in line with current practice with presentation of information, found in other museums/galleries.

Council congratulated the volunteers involved with this upgradeas lots of hours were involved to complete all tasks.
