Come and chat with Cr Raeburn

18 Jan 2021

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn is encouraging residents in Honeysuckle Creek ward to drop into the Violet Town café and have a chat.

Cr Raeburn will be hosting conversation cafes every Friday from 1pm to 5pm.

His focus is to provide the community with the opportunity to have open and informative conversations in the comfortable setting of the Honeysuckle Creek Ward.

“I value ideas, feedback and discussions with members of the community, and I want to hear from as many people as possible,” Cr Raeburn said.

Cr Raeburn maintains that every voice has the right to be heard, although some people shy away from the limelight of community forums, council meetings and more formal settings.

These conversations ensure anyone can drop-in and have a chat with Councillor Raeburn in a comfortable, safe and respectful cafe setting.

Cr Raeburn was recently re-elected to Council as the representative of the Honeysuckle Creek Ward at the Strathbogie Shire Council Local Government election in November 2020.

He has been voted Mayor of Strathbogie Shire for one year by his fellow elected Councillors, while Cr Melanie Likos of the Lake Nagambie Ward is the Deputy Mayor.

“I welcome enquiries, questions and suggestions from every member of Violet Town and surrounds to help me understand the ongoing needs, projects and ideas that my community cares about most,” he said.

“Each person has a role to play in planning the future of the region and no matter how loud or quiet each individual is, every voice counts.

“We have so many people who are physically, emotionally, historically and financially invested in the future of the community. That is such a wealth of knowledge, care and perspectives to share.”

Everyone is welcome to drop into the Violet Town Café on Fridays from 1pm to 5pm to speak to Cr Raeburn.
