Cinema re-opens; community to vote on monthly screenings
The Euroa Community Cinema was officially re-opened at the weekend with a celebratory opening night and subsequent Sunday afternoon screening.
Almost 300 people attended the cinema across the two screenings which featured the new Downton Abbey blockbuster.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Laura Binks said the fantastic attendance over the weekend demonstrated what a beloved facility the Euroa Community Cinema is.
“We were so happy to welcome our community back into the grand historical cinema after several months of being closed,” Cr Binks said.
“It was great to hear people talking about the newly updated interior with many commenting on the new features which included new chairs, polished floors, a new paint colour for the walls and detailed curtains.”
Cr Binks said Council was now calling on the community to provide feedback on the upgrades via the Share Strathbogie survey.
“Our Euroa Community Cinema Share Strathbogie page is also a chance for the community to vote on movies they would like to see each month,” Cr Binks said.
“We’ll ensure a community-choice movie screening takes place each month based on your popular picks! So be sure to jump on www.share.www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au to provide your feedback on the upgrades, the cinema in general, and what movies you want to see.
“It’s a great opportunity to embrace the incredible facility and all that is has to offer.”
