Statement from the Mayor, Cr Scott Jeffery

I have written to the Mayor of Waverley Council, Cr Will Nemesh, expressing our deepest condolences following the tragic events at Bondi on Sunday night. 

All Australians should be able to gather in peace without fear of attack.  

Communities all around the country are coming together to celebrate this special time of year, and it’s heartbreaking to know that many in Bondi headed out but never made it home. 

The Shire of Strathbogie stands with Waverley Council, the Jewish community and everyone impacted by this shocking and devastating event.
