About the Role:

The Assets Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining Council’s strategic asset management framework, including policies, strategies, and long-term plans. It leads the preparation of Council’s 10-year Asset Management Plan in line with legislative requirements and supports the delivery of annual and long-term capital works programs.

This role ensures strong alignment between Council’s strategic planning documents, financial planning, and service delivery, while supporting governance, reporting, asset valuation, and compliance with the Road Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Council’s asset management policies, strategies, and systems in alignment with the Local Government Act 2020.
  • Provide strategic oversight and coordination of the Asset Management Steering Group (AMSG), including governance frameworks and organisational integration.
  • Manage the Asset Management System (AMS) and ensure the accuracy and use of asset data for informed decision-making and capital works planning.
  • Review and maintain Council’s Road Management Plan, inspection cycles, and compliance reporting.
  • Represent Council in regional forums and partnerships, including Roads to Recovery and the Regional Water Monitoring Partnership.
  • Oversee land asset management, e-title systems, and GIS integration to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Analytical and investigative skills.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the principles and practices of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures may be required.
  • The ability to contribute to the development and implementation of long-term staffing strategies.
  • Experience in delivering Asset Management functions.
