Climate Ready Gardens 2026 Design Course

13 March, 2026 10:00 am - 28 March, 2026 12:00 pm

Strathbogie Shire Council’s popular Climate Ready Gardens design course is returning in 2026 following rave reviews from last year’s participants. This free, hands‑on program helps residents design gardens that thrive in a changing climate.

This 12‑hour intensive course is designed for residents seeking to future‑proof their gardens through practical, hands‑on design strategies that respond to a changing climate. Participants will learn how to create drought‑resilient and flood‑smart gardens, as well as explore bushfire‑sensitive design principles.

While no garden can ever be bushfire‑proof, thoughtful planning can significantly reduce risk around the home and support ecological recovery after fire. The course will guide participants through plant selection and garden layouts that contribute to safer, more resilient landscapes, while also restoring habitat and supporting native wildlife in a changing climate.

Whether starting with a blank canvas or redesigning an existing garden, attendees will walk away with a bespoke garden plan and practical skills they can apply immediately.

Two groups will run — one in Euroa and one in Nagambie — each offering the same course content. Morning or afternoon tea is provided at all in‑person sessions.
