Draft Streetscape Plans released for feedback
Strathbogie Shire Council has released draft streetscape plans for Euroa, Strathbogie, Longwood, Violet Town and Avenel for community feedback.
The release of the draft plans follows an extensive community engagement program to ensure community input was at the heart of the draft plans.
The aim of the draft streetscape plans are to improve the commercial vitality of our main streets by delivering infrastructure improvements that:
- Create a distinctive sense of place for local residents, visitors and businesses;
- Provide a high quality, attractive public space where people want to visit and shop; and
- Improve the attractiveness, comfort, accessibility, connectivity and safety each of our main streets or main commercial areas.
Mayor, Cr Laura Binks, said Council was now seeking further input from the community to ensure we had captured their feedback and help prioritise works.
“Council committed $650,000 in the 2020/21 Budget to create these streetscape plans (along with plans for Nagambie) and complete initial works,” Cr Binks said.
“We’re excited we’ve been able to work with local contractor About Architecture to create plans that will help shape our community’s identities, increase civic pride and improve a sense of wellbeing and belonging.
