Council commences search for permanent Chief Executive Officer
Advertising has commenced today for Strathbogie Shire Council’s permanent Chief Executive Officer with the support of external recruitment agency Gem Executive.
Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the recruitment of the CEO is one of the first key tasks of the new Council.
“Recruiting a permanent Chief Executive Officer is one of the most important priorities and decisions for the new Council and we are looking forward to working with an inspirational leader who will champion our community and ensure delivery of our strategic plan.
Councillors are looking for an experienced and authentic leader, and a confident communicator who can work across the organisation to engage and empower staff in the delivery of essential community services and asset management” Mayor Ewart- Kennedy said.
Mayor Ewart-Kennedy expressed her gratitude to the community for their patience whilst the search was underway noting that the recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive Officer can take time.
“We expect the whole process to be finalised by May 2025 and I’ll continue to keep the community informed along the way as we make progress.
I would also like to extend my thanks to all Council staff, under the leadership of Interim Chief Executive Officer Tim Tamlin who continue to do a great job in stabilising and improving council operations following the suspension of council in late 2023, and the resignation of the previous CEO in July 2024” Mayor Ewart-Kennedy said.
