  • Band 4 – $68,190 per annum, pro-rata + 12% superannuation

About the Role:

The Finance Support Officer provides high-quality administrative support to our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working in a collaborative, community-focused environment.

You will play an important role in primarily supporting Accounts Payable and Rates, to deliver accurate financial services that help Council achieve positive outcomes.

This is a 24-hour-per-week position, with flexibility to be worked over either three days or spread across five days. The role is temporary for six months from the commencement date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Council’s rate functions including data collection input and processing, maintaining Council’s property, customer and rating databases, processing of land information certificates, assist with preparation of voter roll information, and provide assistance as required to the Council Valuer in the administration of revaluation and supplementary valuation processes.
  • Provide support to Council’s accounts payable functions including creditor master file, scheduled payments and orders system, including preparation, data collection input and processing, and report generation and updating to the ledger in accordance with Council’s internal procedures and timelines.
  • Liaise with all Purchasing Officers to determine any discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
  • Support the preparation, generation, and distribution of annual rate notices, reminder notices, supplementary notices, and related correspondence.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Is proficiency in Word processing, Excel spreadsheet and database management.
  • Has data entry experience and capability.
  • Has excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills.
