Works underway at Nagambie Splash Park
Nagambie parents and children have voted, and works are now underway to develop a splash park filled with the community’s chosen play equipment.
Residents used Strathbogie Shire Council’s online engagement platform www.share.www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au to share their advice on the preferred equipment for the splash park and not surprisingly on top of the list was the water slide structure.
The splash park – situated in Buckley Park – will be completed in late September (weather permitting) and will also include a rainbow tunnel, a mushroom umbrella, tilting cones and splash buckets.
Fun for the children will also be the crab and several more spraying apparatuses, so Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Laura Binks said summer in Nagambie 2022 would be lots of fun.
“It was wonderful to have so much input from Nagambie parents and children who will be the major users of the new splash park,” Cr Binks said.
“The voting for the equipment for the splash pad design showed that we have a very engaged group of residents both big and small who are delighted to choose the equipment for this new facility now under construction.”
The $1 million splash park is being built by Wacky Water Play who has now started installing the base pad for the fun structures.
Strathbogie Shire regrets that the toilet facilities in this area have been closed as they are within the construction site area.
The toilets will remain closed during the construction period, which is expected to be complete in September. Council is working on providing an alternative solution and we will keep the community informed.
