#GreatNewsThusday – Two new Aussie citizens in Strathbogie Shire

Strathbogie Shire Administrator Peter Stephenson presided over a citizenship ceremony in the council chambers recently.

Two British citizens who have made their home in Australia took the Australian citizenship pledge: Mrs Clare Bassett of Avenel and Ms Gemma Parkinson of Euroa.

Clare came to Australia eleven years ago from Brighton on the Southeast Coast of England. What was initially a traveling holiday turned into a permanent stay when she met her husband; they now have three children.

Seven years ago, Gemma arrived from Lancashire as a skilled migrant. She has a business in the health industry and lives with her partner in Euroa.
