Strathbogie Shire Community Grants now open
Strathbogie Shire residents are being encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $5000 in the Council’s latest round of Community Grants.
The 2021-22 Community Grants Program opens for applications on June 1 for the month, closing on June 30.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn said this year the grant categories had been expanded to fund as many projects and community ideas as possible.
The five grant categories are:
- Active and healthy communities
- Arts and culture
- Environment and sustainability
- Facilities and infrastructure, and
- Small projects.
Cr Raeburn said the grants were a great way for organisations to invigorate their ideas and bring them to fruition.
“Whether it is a small request for grant funding or a larger request which is supported by other contributions, I see this as a great encouragement to enliven our communities in any one of the categories listed,” he said.
Following a recent review of the grant guidelines there are some minor changes which the Community Wellbeing Team would like to explain at a series of upcoming online workshops.
The workshops are being held on Wednesday, June 9 and 16 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and on Friday, June 18 from 3pm to 4pm.
“We encourage all interested members of the community to attend one of the workshops to learn more about our revamped community grants program,” Cr Raeburn said.
The Assessment process will be undertaken in July and recommendations presented to the August Council meeting.
