Pop-ups in Binney Street, Euroa receive revamp

23 Sep 2021

The pop-up attractions in Binney St, Euroa have been updated, getting a winter-themed facelift thanks to Strathbogie Shire Council funding.

Council supported DESIGNEuroa to install the attractions which proved to be a popular spot for locals and tourists alike since they were established last year.

The previous pocket park and beach designs have been transformed into something new and exciting.

Edwina Thomson from DESIGNEuroa said the renewed spaces connect with the natural environment that surrounds Euroa and the Strathbogie Shire.

“We have incorporated a more natural play space with seating, resting and meeting spaces,” she said.

“Also, we have included much more native planting this time around.

“With renewed landscaping and natural materials, we hope to express a sense of identity for Euroa and encourage visitors to explore our beautiful surrounding area.

“This time around we also hope to appeal to more than just our visual senses, with the incorporation of sound and light.”

Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn said it had been great seeing the spaces being utilised by many.

“These pop-up attractions have been such a great addition to Euroa’s main street,” Cr Raeburn said.

“Council is very pleased to be able to support the renewal of these spaces, giving them a new lease on life and ensuring they are enjoyed into the future.”
