Celebrate sustainability at the opening of the Nagambie Tip Shop
Join us for an end-of-year celebration and the official opening of the Tip Shop at Strathbogie Shire’s Nagambie Transfer Station on Saturday 14 December, from 9am – 12 noon.
The Tip Shop has been accepting recyclable items for months, and now it’s time to celebrate! Bring along your clutter to recycle, explore second-hand treasures, and enjoy some Christmas-themed fun.
What to Expect:
- Dress Up in Second-Hand Style: Wear your best second-hand attire and capture the moment with a free photo.
- Recycling Made Easy: Recycle cardboard, e-waste, batteries, and scrap metal free of charge.
- Sustainable Bargains: Shop for second-hand items, including furniture, tools, toys, bicycles, and more, all priced between $1–$20.
- Fundraiser Fun: Enjoy a sausage sizzle and soft drinks, hosted by the Nagambie Men’s Shed.
Mayor Cr Claire Ewart-Kennedy encourages everyone to embrace sustainability
as every day is a good day to celebrate sustainability, so why not start now? Clean up before the silly season and see what treasures await at the Tip Shop.
‘We can all do with a gentle reminder to clean out our cupboards and reuse what we can which fosters community generosity and cohesiveness along with ensuring less household excess ends up in landfill or waste. The adage of one person’s trash is another’s treasure has never been truer as we all strive collectively for greater sustainability,’ she added.
Council staff will be on hand to answer recycling questions and accept reusable item donations that meet the Council’s Product Acceptance Criteria.
Proceeds from the Nagambie Tip Shop support the operation of the Nagambie Transfer Station.
