Draft Tree Management Policy May 2018

Public Notice Inviting Submissions under Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989

In accordance with Council’s commitment to responsible asset management and public safety, the draft Shire of Strathbogie Tree Management Policy, May 2018 provides the framework within which Council intends to manage the existing and future trees on Council owned or managed land within the urban and rural areas, how we will increase the number of trees within the municipality, how we will manage the tree stock effectively and how we will reduce the risk that trees may pose to the public.

The draft policy is available from Customer Service at both Euroa and Nagambie, as well as on Council’s website.

Strathbogie Shire Council invites submissions under section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 in relation to the draft policy. Any person making a submission on the draft policy under Section 223 of the Act must do so in writing to the undersigned by mail or email by 5pm Friday 22nd June 2018. All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act. Any person requesting to be heard in support on his or her submission is entitled to be heard before Council or be represented by a person acting on his or her behalf. Council will receive/hear submissions the Special Council meeting to be held on Tuesday 10th July, 2018 commencing at 5.00pm in the Euroa Community Conference Centre. Submissions made under Section 223 of the Act are not confidential and:

  • Will be incorporated in full (including any personal information) into the agenda and minutes of any Council meeting at which the matter is considered;
  • Will be provided on Council’s website as part of any relevant Council or Committee agenda and minutes; and
  • Must be made available for public inspection in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

Following consideration of submissions, Council will review and amend the draft Shire of Strathbogie Tree Management Policy as appropriate, following which the policy will be submitted to Council for formal consideration at a date to be determined.

Community Pools Strategy Report

Public Notice Inviting Submissions under Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989

Consultants, Otium Planning Group, have been working since July 2017 to develop a strategy to guide Council’s planning for aquatic recreation facilities. The consultants have been guided by Council’s Pools Working Group, acting as a Steering Committee.

A draft Community Pools Strategy Report has now been prepared and is available from Customer Service at both Euroa and Nagambie, as well as on Council’s website.
