Are you waiting with bated breath for the calendar to turn over to December 1 so you can go to town with Christmas decorations, carols and baking?
Well Christmas is about to get even more merry here in the Strathbogie Shire, with the opportunity to win some Christmas spending money.
Council is running a competition for most creative Christmas decorations for households, businesses and community groups across the Shire.

Outcomes of the Strathbogie Shire Ordinary Council Meeting hold the promise of major economic growth and development opportunities for the region.
One of the biggest items that came out of the meeting was the extension to the Shire Offices complex to house a new Visitor Information Centre.
Alongside this were options brought forward for development to the Nagambie Toilet Block at the central median strip on High Street.
Another proposal put forward was the expansion of the Euroa RSL Sub-Branch, which was discussed at a meeting held in July with relevant parties.
The consultation sessions for the community will be taking place over the coming months, and specific details will be provided at a later date.

Councillor Amanda McClaren has been unanimously re-elected unopposed as Mayor of Strathbogie Shire for 2017-18.
Six of the seven Councillors voted for the top job at the Special Council Meeting on Tuesday 14 November at 5pm, with Cr Alistair Thomson an apology.
Council also resolved to elect Cr John Mason uonopposed as Deputy Mayor, which was supported by Councillors Amanda McClaren, Mick Williams, Malcolm Little and John Mason, with Councillors Kate Stothers and Deb Swan abstaining from the vote.

Last night the Strathbogie Shire Council finalised item 10.2 (the commencement of the statutory process to reappoint the CEO) in the October 2017 Ordinary Council Meeting.
The Notice of Motion moved by Cr Mason and seconded by Cr Little was debated and voted on 4-2, with two Councillors, Cr Swan and Cr Stothers, voting against the motion and four Councillors, Cr Mason, Cr Little, Cr McClaren and Cr Williams voting for the motion. Cr Thomson was an apology for the meeting.
The Points of Order took precedence over all other business and the adjournments have been crucial in allowing Council the time to seek sound legal advice to ensure proper procedures were followed.
