Strathbogie Shire welcomed $100,000 funding announcement from the Victorian Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund – Cricket Facilities fund toward a major upgrade of Euroa’s Friendlies Oval.

The $210,000 upgrade will be funded through the grant in conjunction with a $50,000 contribution from the Friendlies Oval Committee of Management, which was raised through fundraising, and a $50,000 contribution from Strathbogie Shire Council.

Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes visited the oval last week to make the funding announcement.

Strathbogie Shire Council Deputy Mayor John Mason described the project as a major windfall for the area.

"It is an incredible opportunity for Euroa, to establish what will be an iconic sporting ground at its completion, situated on one of the main entrances to the town.

"The end product will be a high calibre facility which will be valued and utilised by not only its many user groups but the whole community," he said.

A random selection of Strathbogie Shire householders will be asked to take part in a community satisfaction survey in coming weeks and share their views about Council’s performance.

Independent market research agency, National Field Services will carry out the phone surveys, which provide an opportunity for Strathbogie Shire residents to assess Council’s performance and service delivery across a range of areas.

The telephone surveys will be undertaken over a number of weeks and will commence from Monday 5 February 2018.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren said National Field Services had been commissioned to conduct the community satisfaction survey on behalf of Council.

"National Field Services will be calling a representative sample of households from across the Shire over coming weeks and asking them a series of questions about a range of Council areas and functions," she said.

"We would like to let the community know these telephone surveys will be undertaken over the next couple of weeks and assure residents that personal details and individual responses are confidential."
