August Council Meeting Round-up

Friday, 31 August, 2018

Strathbogie Shire Council met at the Avenel Memorial Hall for their Ordinary Council Meeting recently.

Avenel was one of many destinations visited in the shire as part of their roving Council Meetings.

All seven Councillors were back on deck for the meeting, which made for great discussion and information sharing among the group.

Highlights from the meeting included endorsement of the following items:

  • Avenel Action Group Community Plan 2018-2022
  • Access and Disability Advisory Committee Terms of Reference 2018 (Review)
  • MyStrathbogie Quarterly Bulletin
  • Tree Management Policy
  • Food Safety Management Framework Policy

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren said Council was pleased to be able to visit Avenel and encourages the more of the community to attend Council Meetings.

“The roving Council Meetings give us the opportunity to be more accessible to residents throughout the shire and to hear about issues impacting them, as well as giving our communities the opportunity to be involved in local government,” Cr McClaren explained.

“It was also great to visit and make use of the fantastic Avenel Hall which is now state of the art after recent upgrades.”
