Council encouraging residents to have their say on old Youth Club Hall in Euroa

Strathbogie Shire Council is encouraging people to express their views on the proposed sale of the old Euroa Youth Club Hall to be sold in Brock Street, Euroa.

Earlier this year, council decided to sell the hall and relocate its current use to a suitable location.

The Euroa Little Theatre Group, which had used the hall for a number of years, relocated to the former State Emergency Service (SES) shed which council has renovated for the purpose.

Council has now obtained planning approval to subdivide the land and create a title for the hall and invite submissions on the proposed sale, in writing, up until November 27.

The submissions will be heard at a special meeting on December 8.

Depending on the submissions received, council may resolve to sell or not to sell the hall at the December 15 meeting.

Deputy Mayor Colleen Furlanetto said the Euroa Little Theatre had moved to the new location in August this year and were pleased with the arrangements.

"This is now the beginning of a process to potentially sell the old hall and I encourage local residents to take the opportunity to put in submissions."

Cr Robin Weatherald said people should make their opinions known about the proposed sale.

"A number of people have already signalled their interest and concerns about the hall," he said.
