The District Nursing Service is jointly funded by the Victorian and Australian Governments through the Home and Community Care Program.
The District Nursing Service’s major objective is to ensure high quality professional nursing care for people with short or long term health issues or disabilities, who choose to remain in their own homes. Professional nurses provide individualized care including:
Clinical assessment
Medications/injections
Wound management
Ongoing- monitoring to assist wellbeing
Diabetes education/ maintenance
Continence management
Health education and promotion
Referrals to allied health professionals and other services
Predominantly the District Nursing Service provides services to frail older people, younger people with disabilities and carers of these two groups.
Services may be provided to other people who require nursing care in their own homes at a cost and if resources are available.
Eligibility of each person will be individually assessed.
Euroa, Violet Town and surrounds are covered by the Benalla District Nursing Service.
Seymour, Puckapunyal, Tallarook, Trawool, Avenel, Nagambie and surrounding areas are covered by the Seymour District Nursing Service.
