A new publication aimed at helping older residents stay active and connected within COVID-19 restrictions is now available throughout the municipality.
Newsletter items include resources and services which help older residents look after their physical and mental health, community connections, entertainment, and puzzles.
The monthly newsletters will also share inspiration from older residents within the Shire on how they are staying occupied and socially connected within the confines of the pandemic.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Amanda McClaren said the project was an initiative of the Shire's Community Wellbeing team and delivered with the help of staff employed through the Working for Victoria initiative.
"The Working for Victoria scheme has provided us with extra staff for six months whose former employment was impacted by COVID-19," Cr McClaren said.
"The extra people power is supporting numerous community projects as part of the Shire's COVID-19 Recovery Program – RE3 Reset, Reboot and Revitalise."
The free Healthy Ageing publication is available at participating supermarkets, post offices, pharmacies and medical centres throughout the Shire.
Strathbogie Shire Council welcomes feedback from its residents and will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible.
