Tourism

From the clear calm waters of our lakes and rivers to stunning views from the heights of our  ranges, charming villages, fine food and wine - welcome to our beautiful Shire. The abundant, diverse and breathtaking landscape of the Strathbogie Shire is only a short 90 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the Melbourne CBD.

Our magnificent region offers an escape to fresh air, natural attractions and so much to see, do, experience and taste. It takes no time at all to be enjoying breathtaking views as you ascend the beautiful Strathbogie Ranges providing a dramatic landscape around every corner, the rugged granite-topped mountains, waterfalls and pristine bushland accommodate an abundance of wildlife.

The Strathbogie Shire Council recognises the importance of tourism and events to the economic growth of our region. If you have a business that benefits directly or indirectly from tourism or you’re organising an event; read below on how Goulburn River Valley Tourism (GRVT) can potentially assist your business.

Who is Goulburn River Valley Tourism (GRVT)?

GRVT operates as the peak regional tourism organisation for the Goulburn River Valley region. It was established in July 2009 by the four councils that make up our region; Greater Shepparton, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie.

Goulburn River Valley Tourism is responsible for the development of regional tourism product strengths and niche strategic product development opportunities, particularly where product can impact on increasing visitor yield, improve visitor experience and increase visitation.
