Boat Launching

A public boat launch ramp is located at McNamaras Point at the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre, Loddings Lane Nagambie.  A launching fee is payable for use of the boat ramp and monies collected are used to maintain safe access to the waterway, as well as toilet and picnic facilities.

Permits are available from the Visitor Information Centre, Shop 3, 317 High St Nagambie, 5794 1471 all year round.  During the summer season (Oct until Easter) boat ramp passes can also be purchased from McNamaras Point at any time via the CelloPark App. However you can only purchase day permits through CelloPark App.

Strathbogie Shire has introduced a new simple streamlined system for obtaining a daily boat ramp pass at Nagambie.  It is a simple system that only requires a mobile phone to operate, no more struggling with an ancient ticket machine or searching to find a ten dollar note in your pocket.  Even if you don’t have a smart phone, you can call and register or purchase a prepaid card from the Visitor Information Centre 317 High Street Nagambie. At the Visitor Information Centre credit & eftpos cards can not be accepted on the weekends, only cash.

$76 resident annual permit - call the Nagambie Visitor Information Centre to purchase

$125 non-resident annual permit - call the Nagambie Visitor Information Centre to purchase

How does it work?

Your vehicle registration number is recorded when you start a session. You should always remember to activate your session as vehicle registration numbers are used by compliance officers to check if there is an active session for your car.

Strathbogie Shire Council boat launching facilities have the same all-day fee so you will be charged the flat fee and you do not need to stop your session when you leave.

Payments are made automatically according to your selected payment method when you register with CellOPark.

  • If you choose to pay with a credit card or debit card, payment will be deducted monthly, on the 24th of the month for all the sessions you have had during that month.
  • If you register with a prepaid card, the payment will be deducted from your prepaid balance at the end of each session.

To use the system, you can register in one of 3 ways:

Download the CellOPark app, or register online at www.cellopark.com.au Fill in your details, including your mobile number, contact details and vehicle registration number. (You can register up to three vehicles) or Register over the phone by calling 1300 GO PARK (1300 467275).

You only need to register once. The process is quick and easy, and once you’re registered you can start using the CellOPark system straight away.

Now that your have registered,  start the session -

Every time you launch your boat and park at the boat ramp, you’ll need to start your session. It’s like buying a virtual ticket or permit – it tells the system that you’re here. There are three easy ways to do this:

1. Via the app
If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, you can use the CellOPark app to start your session. Simply select the location (Strathbogie Shire), zone number, your vehicle registration number (if you have more than 1 vehicle registered) and hit ‘START’ to begin. Since payment is made for the day – you do not need to stop the transaction, it will end automatically at the end of the day (midnight).

2. Call from your mobile
Your mobile phone number is linked to your vehicle when you register. Simply call 9111 1799, select the vehicle you wish to park (if you have more than 1 vehicle registered) and enter the zone number. The automated system will register that you’re here. You must have caller ID enabled so CellOPark can tell that it’s you.

3. Log in online
Log in to your online account on the CellOPark website, go to the ‘Live Parking’ tab, and start your session by selecting the location (Strathbogie Shire), zone number, your vehicle registration number (if it’s changed) and click on ‘Start Parking’.
