| Public Health
Council is responsible for many programs that protect and promote public health and well being. These programs operate to for the betterment and benefit of the community. Council is responsible for a variety of environmental health issues, such as food safety and hygiene standards (including inspecting and licensing food premises and temporary food events), septic tank approvals and immunisations. Tobacco and smoking related issues are also among those considered by this department.
Council has two environmental health officers. Residents can contact them at Council’s Euroa office on 5795 0000, or 1800 065 993. Office hours are 9am to 5pm.

| Rural Land Rate Program
Council is committed to reducing weeds and vermin in the shire. The rural land rate, part of Council’s innovative land management program, is one program aimed at achieving this aim. The program enables eligible landholders to access a 20 per cent rate rebate if they meet land management goals in controlling weeds and vermin. Residents must apply for this rebate each year.
