With 2133km of roads and 136 bridges on Council's local roads system, managing council infrastructure and assets such as buildings, parks and gardens, is a large part of the department's role. Waste management, emergency management, recreation facilities and operation of swimming pools throughout the shire is also administered by the assets department.
