The Maternal and Child Health Program offers families with children in the birth to school age range, services which aims to ensure a comprehensive approach for the early detection, intervention and prevention of physical, emotional and social issues affecting young children and their families.

| The service also provides intensive support for vulnerable families experiencing significant parenting difficulties.
Reviews of grow health and development at key ages and developmental stages enable early intervention and referral to appropriate services. Recommended review visits are at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 4 months, 7-8 months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years and 3.5 years.
The program provides group sessions where parents can gain knowledge about parenting and to gain social support and meet new friends. A number of groups for toddlers and older children are currently being developed.
