| Strathbogie Shire Council operates one central Landfill which is situated at 190 McDiarmids Road, Violet Town
Council also operates 3 Transfer Stations and 3 Collection Points.
These are located at:
Avenel 145 Monea Road, Avenel
Euroa 46 Tip Road, Euroa
Nagambie 854 McDonalds Road, Nagambie
Longwood 85 Maxfield Street, Longwood
Ruffy 2 Redgate Lane, Ruffy
Graytown 1487 South Costerfield-Graytown Road, Graytown
Operating Hours of Central Landfill, Transfer Stations are varied to give ratepayers different time frames for disposal.
Domestic quantities of recyclable items such as glass, aluminium cans, paper, cardboard and steel cans are accepted free provided they are sorted and placed in the correct containers as directed by the site attendant.
Greenwaste may be deposited at transfer stations and the landfill for the standard tipping fee. Domestic quantities of mulched greenwaste may be taken from the landfill and transfer stations free of charge. If mulched greenwaste is required by ratepayers, it must be self loaded and is taken as user's risk. The contents of the greenwaste is not guaranteed by Council.
Paint, chemicals and hazardous materials are not accepted at Council facilities. Contact Enrvironmental Protection Authority on 5721 7277 or EcoRecycle Victoria on 1800 353 233 for disposal of these wastes.
Whitegoods such as refridgerators, freezers and air conditioners etc. may be taken to Euroa and Nagambie Transfer Stations and the Violet Town Landfil.
Domestic motor oil will be accepted at Nagambie and Euroa Transfer Stations ONLY during normal hours of operations. Quantities above 20 litres will not be accepted. Motor oil is defined as combustable engine and gear oils only.
