Tree work undertaken at Euroa Caravan Park

Friday, 26 May, 2017

Strathbogie Shire Council is currently carrying out a program of maintenance work to prune trees at the Euroa Caravan Park.
The works being carried out are part of Council’s overall Tree Management Strategy and are in accordance with recommendations from a 2015 arborist’s report.
This report identified trees needing attention in order to reduce the risk to park users and also for the health of the trees.
As well as pruning to remove dead wood from native trees, a number of exotic trees have been removed along the creek bank.
Works are being supervised by an arborist and carried out by both a qualified contractor and Council’s own tree crew.
Seven Creeks Ward Councillor John Mason said the trees were in need of pruning, as branches tended to fall very easily.
“For safety reasons, this work was necessary and should not have any lasting effect on the trees,” he said.
“With patronage growing at the Euroa Caravan Park, it is essential work like this is done so as to reduce the risk to park users.”
An ongoing program is in place to manage the trees in the park and works that may require the removal of native vegetation are subject to planning approval.
