JUNIOR CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
David has been a keen sportsman his entire primary school life. Whilst he may not excel at every sport he attempts he certainly puts in additional effort to better his results. This year, one of the events David competed in at our school athletics was high jump. David won hands down and easy cruised through the next two levels of competition at district & regional levels to reach the State Title. At the State Titles David was able to achieve the second highest jump for his age group which has now qualified him to go to Sydney in late November to represent Victoria at the National Titles.
It's not just that David has achieved an outstanding result, it is his dedication and perserverance that also makes him stand out from fellow competitors. David is also an inspiriation to fellow students - once David started competing at higher levels this year, he not only spent lunch times practising, he also came to school much earlier than necessary to squeeze in more training, and when fellow students realised what he was doing, there was quite a crowd also making the effort to come to school early to assist David with his training - they felt that is they could help David get better then that was good for everyone and the school (I did ask some of them and this was a common statement). David is the first student at Nagambie Primary to represent Victoria at the National Titles in any athletic event whilst still a student - a very worthy nominee.

COMMUNITY EVENT OF THE YEAR
Nagambie Football Netball Club Grand Final Success
Nagambie Football Netball Club had seven teams out of 8 reach the grand final in the Kyabram District Football Netball League. Three of the seven teams were victorious, being seniors and reserves football and Under-17 netball. A great achievement for our small town.
CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
Brett 'Bonza' Fothergill
Everywhere we go, Bonza pops up in one way or another. It may be a fundraiser for a local cause, it may be the New Year's Eve fireworks, it may be the many regattas he attends, it may be at the football club - he is always available to help out. We need more of Bonza in Nagambie - he is a worthy recipient.
