Strathbogie Shire has a reputation as a prime site for major events.

With spectacular natural surrounds, temperate climate, first class facilities and sited close to large population areas, the municipality has been selected as the venue for some spectacular major events.

It has hosted the World Masters Games, is the venue for national and state rowing and canoeing titles and Heads of the River, and hosts the Australian Carriage Driving Classic each year.

Amongst other major events to take place in the municipality we have Wool Week, the World’s Longest Lunch, Euroa Show and Euroa Rodeo.

Just Some of our Events...

 Euroa Show and Shine   Lovers of fine cars and other vehicles descend on Euroa for this event!
 Euroa Wool Week Spring Festival   This event runs over the last two weekends in October.
 Heads of the River Regatta   The historic A.P.S Regatta is held at Nagambie Lakes each year.
 Nagambie on Water (NOW) Festival   
 National Rowing Championships   Nagambie Lakes has now hosted three National Rowing Championships.
 Ride the Ranges 2010   
 Strathbogie Summer Festival   The Annual Summer Festival held on the second weekend in January in the small village of Strathbogie.

Tourism Events & Festivals Funding
The Strathbogie Shire Council is committed to supporting tourism within the Strathbogie Shire and recognises the value of events to the tourism industry and Strathbogie Shire economy. A tourism event is defined as an event of regional, state or national significance that can provide tangible tourism and economic benefits to Strathbogie Shire.

Applications are sought from event organisers operating within the municipality for funding under Council’s Tourism Events & Festivals Program. There are two funding rounds per annum with Round One open mid-January each year and closing 1st March and Round Two open on 1st August and closing on 1st September.

All intending Applicants must contact Libby Wester, Council’s Events Co-ordinator on 0438 596 201 57 95 2010 or via email –events@strathbogie.vic.gov.au to obtain a copy of the Application Form and Guidelines. Only applications on the prescribed form will be accepted.
