| Fire Prevention Starts Now. | | Important Information
During the declared fire season lighting of fires in the open air for burning-off is not allowed unless a written permit is obtained from the Strathbogie Shire Council’s Municipal Fire Prevention Officer.
What does this mean: • Grass must be cut and MAINTAINED to a maximum height of 75mm during the fire season unless the property is over 5 acres (2.6 hectares) in which case a 10 metre boundary break is required.
• All owners/occupants are responsible to maintain their property by keeping grass cut and ground fuels (twigs, dry leaves, dry branches) at a minimum.
• All property owners must cut and maintain their empty blocks or paddocks or a fire prevention notice will be issued.
• Fines up to $234 will be issued to property owners who do not comply with fire prevention notice.
• Additional costs will be incurred should Council have to undertake works, which will be charged to the property owner.
Burning off without a permit will not be tolerated. Fines apply. $5,850 fine, imprisonment for a term not more than 12 months, or both. BREACH of permit conditions - $2,340 fine, imprisonment for a term not more than 12 months, or both.

| Order to Prohibit the Presence of Dogs at Violet Town Market | | Order to Prohibit the Presence of Dogs when the Violet Town Market is Operating Violet Town Recreation Reserve
Notice is hereby given of an Order made by resolution of the Strathbogie Shire Council at its meeting on 18 August 2009, in accordance with the provisions of Section 26(2) of the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act 1994.
Dogs are prohibited from entering and/or remaining in the grounds of the Violet Town Recreation Reserve within the area bounded to the north by Honeysuckle Creek and to the south, west and east by Tulip, Caulfield and Foreman Street, Violet Town, on any day the Violet Town Market is operating, commencing September 2009.
